The Government has increased the capitalisation percentage of unemployment aids so that the unemployed may have more chances to become self-employed workers.

Thus, the single payment will amount to the value of the corresponding necessary investment to implement each specific activity, including the business start-up taxes, up to 60% - maximum - of the taxable unemployment subsidy to be received by each worker.

Beneficiaries

According to official estimates, 104,000 unemployed workers will benefit from the increase of the capitalisation possibilities of unemployment subsidies.

Development

It is currently in force. It was approved of by virtue of Royal Decree 1975/2008, dated 28 November, on urgent measures for economy, taxes, employment and access to housing, published in the Official Gazette of the Spanish State on 2 December 2008 (www.boe.es/boe/dias/2008/12/02/pdfs/A48135-48142.pdf).
